With reference to my letter to you of the

18th, and your reply of the 18th. instant, I am directed to in-

form you that His Excellency the Governor is pleased to direct

that within the next three days you will take an opportunity of

offering an unqualified apology to His Honour the Chief Justice

for the disrespectful language used by you in his Chambers on the

7th. instant, and that you will offer such apology in the

presence of all the gentlemen who were present when the dis-

respect was offered.
